I Change the Way People See Themselves
When people first see me, they don’t often see what lies beneath. At 4’10”, an Asian woman, I’m often underestimated—overlooked and invisible. But that’s only the surface. Beneath it is someone who defies the status quo, who stands firm, and who inspires others to rise beyond their perceived limits. My parents called me Tini, meaning "little," but I was also born in the year of the ox—a symbol of unrelenting strength and determination. Over time, I became “Tiniox,” a small but mighty force, undeterred by even the largest challenges.
When I first learned to play piano, my small hands seemed like a barrier. But a teacher whose hand deformities didn’t stop her from earning a Ph.D. in music showed me that excuses are illusions we create for ourselves. I carried this truth with me into my career. After college, a series of uninspiring jobs pushed me to forge my own path. I became a piano and voice teacher, and within a decade, I was at the top of my field with a loyal following of 30 students and a long waiting list.
Then, everything changed with a single gift: a camera from my husband
who believed in a talent I hadn’t yet recognized. Initially reluctant, I discovered a world behind the lens that felt like home. What began as a hobby—taking headshots for students—quickly evolved into a thriving side business. By August 2023, I made a decision that shook my world: I tearfully announced to my students that I would no longer teach. It was one of the hardest choices I’d ever made, but it was fueled by a vision—to turn my passion for photography into a career.
Some doubted my decision, but I saw potential where others saw uncertainty. A year later, I had built a photography business that earned nearly five times what I had as a top-tier music teacher. This success wasn’t accidental—it was the result of learning, mentorship, and an unwavering belief in the value of what I offered. By the end of 2024, I expanded my business to a larger space, a studio that allowed me to dream even bigger and serve more clients.
Before I could change how others saw me, I had to change how I saw myself.
I had to envision myself as a luxury photographer, someone with a distinct skill set and perspective that no one else could replicate. Once I stepped into that vision, the world began to see me differently.
Now, this is the transformation I offer to every client I work with. Through an elevated photo session, I don’t just capture an image—I unveil a version of you that you’ve never seen before. You’ll leave my studio with more than photos; you’ll leave with a renewed vision of who you are. My sacred skill lies in reflecting your light back to you, helping you see the extraordinary in yourself.
Through my lens, you’ll discover not just a new image but a new way of seeing yourself—and the confidence to share that with the world.
