Hi, I'm paula

You’ve built something real. You’ve earned your seat at the table. But open LinkedIn right now and look at your photo.

Is that actually you?

Paula N Luu, Houston luxury portrait and personal branding photographer, has a simple rule: if your photo is 10 years old, we need to talk.

Here’s that conversation.

So what’s actually wrong with keeping an old photo?

“The pictures no longer look like you. The person you were 10 years ago is a very different person than the person you are today.”

That gap between who you are now and who shows up online is costing you. Every time someone looks you up, they’re meeting a version of you that no longer exists. That’s not the impression you’ve worked this hard to make.

Why do so many women resist updating their photos?

“Most of the resistance has to do with not feeling pretty enough right now, or having gained some weight. Some people get paralyzed on what to wear because they understand the value of being seen, but they don’t know how to portray that.”

The resistance is real. The insecurity is real. But staying hidden behind an outdated image doesn’t protect you. It just keeps the wrong version of you in the room.

What does it say about a woman when she refuses to update her photo?

“Part of it is because she’s still living in the past. She thinks the version of herself 20 years ago is a better version than the person she is today.”

That version may have been younger. Maybe thinner. But would you trade the wisdom you carry right now for any of that?

Keeping an old photo undermines who you actually are. It tells the world, and yourself, that you haven’t arrived yet. That you’re still waiting for permission to be seen.

What are women really waiting for?

“I need to lose 10 more pounds, then I’ll update that picture. But when will you lose that 10 more pounds?” The wait never ends. There’s always another reason to stay invisible. Another milestone before you feel worthy of being seen.

And here’s what Paula wants you to know: “I can make you lose 10 more pounds just by angling and position and lighting alone.”

The camera is not the enemy. The story you’re telling yourself is.

What do women discover when they finally do the session?

“A lot of the women I photograph over 50 say, ‘I have now arrived.’ They feel like this is their moment. You’ve passed the timeline society created for you. Now you’re just truly you.”

This is the shift that happens when a woman stops hiding and starts owning her image. She walks in uncertain.

She walks out unforgettable.

“You understand yourself more. And once you own up to that, the sky is your limit.”

Who is this session actually for?

The woman who has built something worth seeing. The entrepreneur, the executive, the leader who shows up powerfully in every room except online.

She’s ready to close the gap between who she is and how she’s seen.
